Jose Briones
Jose Briones has worked in the corrections profession for over 25 years. He began his career as an Officer with the Washington State Department of Corrections, where he steadily advanced through the ranks — Sergeant, Lieutenant, and ultimately Captain of a 3,200-bed major complex.
Throughout his tenure with the Department of Corrections, Jose held specialized assignments in Investigations and Emergency Operations, and served as an Academy Instructor in Security Management, Security Threat Groups, Use of Force, and Emergency Response — developing the expertise that now defines Remedium's training and assessment practice.
In 2015, Jose accepted an appointment as Chief Jail Administrator with the Island County Sheriff's Office. There, he undertook a comprehensive restructuring of the jail's culture, operations, and standards — work that has since been recognized at the national level as a model for county-level correctional reform.
